We cover not only what the state requires but more because the more knowledge you have, the better you can protect yourself. This is NOT A BEGINNER COURSE, if you are not proficient with your firearm, you should look to take Basic Handgun or the NRA Basic Pistol class. The test is not open book, you will be required to pass both the practical and legal test to proceed to the shooting qualification portion.
This course takes around 6-7 hours (9:00 am to 4:00 typically) to cover the material thoroughly including practical exercises and discussion. Shooting qualification will be after the class on the same day or can be schedule for another day if that is more convenient for you. Scheduling the shooting qualification must happen within one week of the tests.
